The Treatment Plan. What is it, and why is it so important?

Category:

Similarly to any other technical field, stomatological interventions require a well-built treatment plan to generate satisfying outcomes. Even though many patients don’t understand the role of the treatment plan and why it’s essential to follow it, this represents the key to long-lasting results.

What is a stomatological treatment plan?

For the patient, the treatment consists of two visits to our dental clinic, EgoDent, where we will create a digital profile with all the technical data that help in efficiently solving specific dental issues. As a team, establishing the treatment plan means finding the appropriate solutions so the patient can enjoy the smile he always wanted. After completing the two stages, we present the patient with the best solution for his dental problem and the alternatives with their pros and cons.

The treatment plan we offer at the beginning might suffer small changes along the way. Every patient reacts differently to a specific treatment. Therefore, the reevaluation of the dental situation of every patient is necessary at every visit to our dental clinic.

Why is stomatological treatment so important?

The role of the treatment is to make the patient aware of his dental problems. We constantly update the patient about the stages of the treatment, its duration, and its costs. Patients are often reluctant to follow a complex stomatological treatment for oral rehabilitation because of its costs. Instead, many opt for compromising solutions (braces that are incorrectly applied, without a personalized treatment) which can cause even more damage in the long run.

At EgoDent, we encourage our patients to choose a treatment plan and closely follow all its stages to have the results they expect.

The stages of the stomatological treatment plan

The correct treatment plan consists of specific stages that need to be completed to reach the expected results:

  • The periodontal stabilization of the cavity (scaling, brushing, etc.);
  • The treatment of any acute complication in its early stages (if any exists);
  • Educating the patient about the correct process of dental hygiene;
  • The extraction of unrecoverable teeth, orthodontic treatment, endodontic or prosthetics restoration);
  • Maintenance consists of continuing the oral hygiene routine that the dental specialist established and regular check-ups to prevent a recurrence.

When you choose a stomatological treatment plan, you get the best solution for your dental problem and save a lot of money long-term. Not only will the problem be efficiently solved, but you will also be able to prevent possible dental issues that might occur after some time.
